Super clean I love it
Wow, this is similar to what I'm striving for in my next setup. My Twitch just doesn't cut it anymore... Thanks for the inspiration!!! :thumbup1:
..thanks :)
Sold my last proper mixer/CDJ's about 18 months ago and been in the controller wilderness for a while but am absolutely loving this setup so far.
Only just scratching the surface of the mixer's capabilities and having lived with Traktor's effects for a while was sceptical how much I'd use the DB4's effects but they really are as good as everyone says..
wow! That's quite the setup
Well played sir...well played. Was just talking to a dude about how much he loves his DB4. Some fantastic capabilities on that bad boy (or girl)
i want a DB4 but im too broke
I just switched from my db2 to a z2 for scratching, cue points blah blah. But I can't bring myself to sell my DB2, the build quality and sound is so much better. Why can't I have both!
Very nice setup!! Are you using the db4 as the audio interface as well?
..pretty quiet on the club gig front these days so not too much of an issue, next party I'm playing is for a friend (on an amazing homemade system), where I'm the only DJ alongside a few bands, so not a problem to take this setup along with me.
To be honest, in a club scenario, not sure which route I'd go, not really realistic to take your own mixer to a gig where other DJ's are performing... I guess in an ideal world I'd take the X1's and have something like an Audio 10 to run through the house mixer, but then one of the reasons I bought the DB4 was so I wouldn't need to do the A10 thing :)
..first live mix recorded thru the DB4 for anyone who's interested ;)

I wish I could afford that mixer but I'm happy with my Dn X1600. Did you look at the K2's before you got the X1's I had the the X1's but the K2's with the built in soundcards made it a nice option to really switch up my setup. I think I want to go check out the DB4 and the Db2

..to be honest, went for the X1's because I'd owned a Mk1 a while back and knew what I was getting, functionality-wise
Have watched some of the K2 tutorials etc. online and they do look great, if not a bit more involved, not sure I'd have any need for latching layers etc. enough buttons to be getting on with here already :)
Whats so good about that there is no platter to mess with? depends what you use it for i suppose.
My S4 is the best purchase i have ever made, having gone from vinyl to cds to a controller i think i'm here to stay... i love how portable it is and that i can easily hook up technics or CDJs if need be. win win.
I was totally happy with my xone:3d, didn't even desire another mixer.. .then my friend left his db2 at my house for a few days..
Clean! Like the setup.
..lil' update :)

Yes!
Wow!
Looking real good! Are you enjoying the D2's?
So dreamy...:rolleyes::thumbup:
Ooh!! Very nice "lil'" update ;)
Oh, nice setup! :)
..OK, not such a lil' update, loved the DB4, but it's had to make way for this:

Looks beautiful! How are you liking it so far?
The more I see it, the more I want to make the switch and sell my djm 900. I love the simplicity and the fatty filters of the mp 2015 (I do wish it also had an echo at the very least).
Are you missing your on-board effects? Or are you triggering them with your d2's?
edit:
Actually just educated myself a bit on this mixer, never knew you could route traktors effects directly to this mixer. How's that working out for you so far?
Nice setup! i love the look of that Rane mixer
...loving it so far, as you say, the filters are stunning, can see myself mixing with them much more than with the EQ's now, I owned a rotary mixer before so was happy to step back into that realm.
To be honest, the on-board effects on the DB4 were always underused, I tend not to hammer effects anyway and if I use any it'll be something subtle like a small amount of delay or something. I guess the 92 might have been a better option for me at the time I bought it, but the simplicity of the built-in soundcard appealed to me. If I'm experimenting it tends to be with Traktor's effects, which are great controlled from the D2.
To be honest, I've not attempted routing the effects through the mixer yet, was only just reading about it... guess I'll be giving that a go next :)
Thanks for the reply, I am with you, I don't like to overuse the effects. But, I do like to add them subtly in the mix and when I do use effects, I only use on-board effects. My set-up includes: djm900, two 2000 nxs, and 2 m5g's. I would like to avoid adding any additional pieces of kit (like a controller or X1), but that may be my only option if I do get an mp2015.
But, along the lines of what you mention, the powerful filters and eqing (and isolator) of the mp2015 provides a completely different range, way to mix, and edit different nuances of the track (and mix in general), that really appeals to me. Please keep me posted, in regards to routing the traktor effects to the mixer, surprisingly I found very little information about this (aside from the rane video on youtube). Or if you record any mixes using the mixer, please feel free to share, I'd love to give it a listen.
Gorgeous. 2015 + D2's dream set up for me, I'm half way there...... !
Gotdamn.
..new mix recorded using the Rane, no idea if you'll be able to tell any difference!
