Creative block is normal for me, especially if I have just finished producing a tune or mixing for too long. Easiest way I find to relieve my mental block is chill out with some tunes, watch some youtube for inspiration (and drink some beer!) :D
activate sponge mode and get to digging.
Do something completely different and specifically in a different environment.
For instance, why not go outside and start an argument with the first stranger you meet - that should clear the cobwebs...
Sometimes I leave it for a day or two and always surprise myself when it works!Sometimes I just keep at it,I can get some crazy creativity when I get sleep deprived! It can go either way though!
biggest thing i have found to prevent getting writers block is look at what processes you go through to make music. I look at it in three stages. Sound design/sample finding, writing/creating, and then mixing. while actually writing the song, dont get bogged down trying to eq things and other stuff that can and should be done in the mixing stage. Thinking like this stops me going off on tangents and forces me to get done what i have in my head first.
really just not care about it and concentrate on something else. ultimately you wanna always concentrate on the thing that your most motivated to doo and where creativity flows the best. that just not happens always to be music. while you put in less time on the maybe one activity you love the most, you advance quickly in everything what you do.
What I find causes my block is getting too serious about it. If you're producing/mixing, and then you get all finicky and serious about getting everything perfect and re-trying things etc, you soon get bored.
I've since learned to take a more chilled out approach and just see what happens and then start perfecting once I got the foundations all in there.
Ultimately, as much of a cliche as it is, music is meant to be fun to make and enjoyed rather than to get wound up and stressed over!
