Like the title suggests, basically. I'm gonna be running the S4 and will be using a couple of midi controllers for production/performance.
Cheers

same! i want a powered hub that is built into a laptop cooler... if that's too much to ask.
I have a cheapy Rocketfish 4 USB hub with a suction cup and it powers my MPK25, Audio 4, MIDI Fighter and external hard drive. Works fine for me. :)
Bellow are 2 winner I use since awhile, problem free.

Don't buy this Belkin 7 port hub sold at the Apple store. http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW306LL/A
I bought one and it worked fine for a month, then it just died.
Thanks everyone, you're awesome :)
I picked up the one at the Apple store, have had it for a little over a month and it works just fine for me.
ive used a 4port belkin powered hub in 95+ temps for over 6 hours, some in direct sunlight, then back to ~50 degree temps for several hours as well. lots of travel and jarring motions, kept tightly in a road ready case for roughly 6 months now.
no problems.
would buy again. got it at best buy on sale, too.
I have that same Belkin 7 port hub running a midi fighter, X1 and a USB Mic and have had no problems with it. The S4 is plugged into the computer as I would advise everybody else to do with their main controller or sound card.
Some light USB reading
