XDJ-RX2 Vinyl Mode works only when track is paused

Hi
just got a brand new RX2
a weird issue [happened in both decks 1 + 2],
i load a track to the deck, click on vinyl mode on, trying to touch the scratch -> nothing happens

i hit play button, track start running, i touch the jog -> nothing happens

only when i click on PLAY button again, it pauses the track, then i touch the jog and it acts like a vinyl mode [scratch etc]

why i cant scratch when the song is playing?
