Issues when mapping parameters to a drum pad on drum rack

So in the first video in the sound packs lesson crafting the drums. Everything works til I get to the shakers, when I map the kick drum to the envelope decay to change the sound of the shakers while playing live I lose the triggering of the drum kick. It does change the shakers just perfect but no more kick, the midi light for the kick does not even flash when I tap the pad. I also have no clue how to set it in momentary mode as I am using Maschine in midi mode and not a midi fighter. Any help appreciated, stoked about getting this kit together.
