Has anyone on here been successful with Mapping the Kontrol Z2 to play nicely with Reckordbox DJ? There is a guy on Youtube has done it but isn't answering my questions!
If you have or know of a mapping can you please direct me in the right direction please :thumbup:
I made a quick mapping when I ended up with one in front of me a couple months ago. I didnt export it, though. Next time I am around one, I will put a quick mapping together again.

BTW, I use to have a pair of CDJ850s and found they worked super tightly in HID with RekordboxDJ. In fact I found they felt actually tighter then The XDJ1000 mk1's I have now with RekordboxDJ! Might just be that my laptop has a harder time with the extra data going back and forth to the xdj's 'advanced HID'. Luckily I didnt get them to be use as controllers. But the 850s were great and the software gives them pretty much all the functionality of the more expensive players, especially with the Z2!

Nevermind, I figured it out and but everytime I load the file and hit "upload the mapping file" I get an this error:

What error message do you get? Did you double check if the controller category is filled?
And which is your user profile on MAPS?

I have downloaded the mapping all is good however when I go to the input settings there is no 'input deck 1/2' when I click setting utility it says it the driver selected does not have it, so I am unable to use my Turntables, anyone know how to solve this?
Do you you have the latest driver for the z2 installed on your computer? If not, download it and install it from NI website. And then in Rekordbox, make sure it is selected in the Audio tab in Preferences menu. (The Driver link in Rekordbox won't work because it's not a pioneer soundcard). If you have done all of this, the you should have options for channel A left and right for input on deck 1, plus channel B left/right for deck 2. Make sure you're set to internal mixer mode.
Also, make sure switches on mixer are set to Phono obviously AND the little Traktor button next to them is turned ON, otherwise you will get the timecode sound through you main output.
Let me know if this works. I am on windows so I'm not sure if theres anything different to do on Mac but I'm assuming not.
I have the correct driver etc installed however I will reinstall/check for the newest one on website, also I have all the rights settings like phono etc, I am getting sound through the mixer just not options for the gosh darn input decks ! Iam on PC so should be simply enough, thanks!
Have done all the things, still not working, no options for inputs, only says master outputs and headphone outputs:( I have my turntables plugged in via USB and RCA into the mixer I don't know why it's not working
Also, the z2 only works with RB when I have the controller editor open in the background with the template applied, this suppose to be like that?
So, just to make sure, you only have the option for Master and Monitor for deck INputs? If so, that is kinda weird.. Are you getting sound from Rekordbox Dj through the mixer? But just not getting the timecode signal into Rekordbox decks? What do the scopes do when in the DVS tab in preferences? Also, why do you have your turntables plugged in USB? Just need the rca's to the mixer. This maybe a dumb question but, are you sure you have the DVS pluspack for RekordboxDJ ? It's not included with the basic licence and is an extra purchase/extra licence unless you are on a monthly subscription. Yes I only have the output options, not inputs. Yes the mixer works fine all the sound comes through it, however when I use the pitch fader on the Turntables, it doesn't send it too the program, the BPM stays the same. And I do not actually have an RB timecode at the moment I am getting a pair soon, but even if I did have the timecode atm I would still have this glitch with no inputs. And I have the usbs into the mixer aswell because with traktor scratch pro that's what you do, I guessed it was the same. And no I do not have the DVS plus pack just because the fact that I do not own a pair of timecode vinyl yet. Even without having the timecode vinyl you would expect the BPM too change though with the pitch fader aswell as the play/pause button do not work, which is because I don't have the options for input decks meaning the Turntables do not send any signals too the mixer/programme, thanks for helping I am struggling. Do you think getting the DVS plus pack will mean the inputs will be enabled?
Yes, that is exactly what the problem is. In RekordboxDJ, the inputs are only unable when you have the DVS pluspack. It is not like Traktor where there is always an input option.

Okay so I have the DVS, and the plus pack, however my tempo faders and start/stop buttons don't work? Do I have to use the sync button too play it every time?
Infact when I scratch the timecode it doesn't even stop, track continues too play, as if the turntables aren't even connected, I have set the inputs which is weird
No, make sure the decks are in relative or absolute mode. If it is in internal it ignores the timecode. Look up the rekordbox dj manual, in the DVS section.
Ahhh okay it's working now, however the loop funct doesn't work? And a little bit of the master song plays through the headphones when cueing a song? Also how do I switch too Live input for Vinyl? So complicated this I'm thinking of returning this mixer and getting a pioneer this is soo complicated for what it is
Most of the trouble you're having is with the software because the mixer was never intended for Rekordbox so it's not plug and play like with Traktor. But once it's all set up it works well.
For the loops not working, make sure you're in relative mode, it won't work in absolute. Rekordbox is not like Traktor where it automatically switches from absolute to relative when you hit a loop or hot cue.
As for the master through the headphones, you have to open up the software mixer (check the mixer box at the top next to sampler) and turn the 'MIXING' knob all the way to the left, and the LEVEL knob all the way to the right. This you have to do once everytime you open up the software but I have actually mapped those two knobs to the Z2 shift+low eq knobs left and right so you can do it quickly.

I can confirm the mapping works as intended. :thumbup1:
However to make the 'autoloop' function on your rotaries to work accordingly, I had to go to my Controller Editor:
Select Template -> Assign tab -> Select rotary -> make sure Turn Mode is set to 'relative' on both rotaries.
The same goes for the Browse rotary. Otherwise it'll just go in one direction...
Plus, go to your Rekordbox settings -> Controller tab -> Deck tab -> Scroll down to AUTO BEAT LOOP -> 'Loop for specified beats.'
The headphone section is probably the one thing most people want to map the way they want it...
My setup is:
Sync buttons A & B for cue selection.
Deck C volume knob for headphone level, Deck D knob for Cue/Master.
Hi does this mean you can use the Z2 with RB as you would with Traktor? If so can you use Traktor vinyl /cds or you need RB ones.?
On that note how much is the dvs upgrade and do you have to get it direct from pioneer?
With the DVS upgrade for RBDJ, which is around $100USD upgrade direct from pioneer, it does work like Traktor Scratch but will not work with Traktor timecode. It does work with Serato timecode vinyl if you have those otherwise you have to purchase RekordboxDJ timecode vinyl. If you're using cd or media players you can download Rekordbox timecode for free from Pioneer website. Then you can burn onto cds or put on thumb drives for you players.Quote:
