Hi again guys (easier in multiple threads)
So I've been wondering how you guys handle long fades on songs. For example, you are mixing out of a song and at the end, instead of it just stopping it has a long synth trail that fades out.
Do you guys let this ride over the incoming song, or do you cut it off? It always feels weird to me when that sound ends, like there's an element of the new song that's missing. Does that make sense? How do you guys reconcile that?

loop an EQ'd section of the synth quietly under the intro of the next song then kill it when it DROPS.
I agree, that always works.
Or go to town on that badboy and FX the fucker towards a beatmasher/gater/filter/loop-combo so it actually becomes part of the new song and than kill it when something funkier comes along or let it ride/loop out til song 3 kicks in. That's my favourite actually when I realise i'm getting towards a more funkier part.
Reverb/delay freeze.
filter UP! :P it works, but gets old and isn't the most creative. but i use it in a pinch. i am a fan of the delay+freeze mixed with an increasing gater.
deley and hi pass filter
This plus letting it peak at the drop of the next song is a sick one. To make it even crazier towards the end start halving the loop size.Quote:

I can only repeat what has been said here.
You could also chop and juggle the tracks as the new one is coming in as long as the rhythm is right.
Beatmash @1/4 & echo fade it out hip hop style. sounds pretty sweet imo.
