So everyone knows that you have a 100 MB limit on mixcloud. however when i get finished recording, my file is always about 400MB, for about a 40-45 minute mix. So how do I compress that file so I can get that mix on mixcloud?

Convert it to an .mp3 with a free converter such as LAME.
I use an application called xACT for OS X to do audio conversions and compressions.
You can just do this in iTunes, google a little for it, i did it the other day...
reencode to 128 that should give you heaps of headroom
Convert it to mp3 in itunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550
Works like a charm!
Change your mp3 encoding settings in iTunes, and convert the mix file to mp3. To reduce the mix file size down.
I usually always upload my mix in 320kbps quality, and the one time where it was a 2hr mix I uploaded it as 128kbps, and I could clearly hear a distinct difference between the two. Maybe they do stream at 128kbps, but I think the better the quality input the better the stream sounds, from my experience. I also find that if you have a bigger file that's uploaded, when you stream, it takes noticeably longer to load the whole song (it plays even as it's loading though so no worries.)
