Mix cover art..?
Hey guys, I wanna start uploading my mixes to youtube and I feel that without some sort of cover art it would look really unattractive to the youtube users. Unfortunately, I have zero experience with photoshop, so I was wondering how does everybody else get their mix cover arts?
Thanks

just grab a cool pic off the web, resize it to around 512x512 using GIMP or other such program if you dont have photoshop.

That simple? Would that risk getting my video deleted due to copyright (for the image)?
-
depends on the image.
if it has water marks then yes defiantly, but if it just off google its open source so there are no legal implications as long as you are not profiting from said image

watermarks on a digital image?
woahhh. the internet is supah sophisticated nowadays!

Herbstrike: Sorry, but that's BS.
Any image that you find online can have copyrights on them and usually they do. This will result in you getting a Cease&desist/getting sued.
Any image that is not clearly stated as open source/CC must be presumed to have copyrights, ALWAYS.
I recommend going on flickr creative commons and searching there, or just using a photo that you have taken yourself.

Sleep with an artist, it's the best plan.
Failing that, find an artist in your group of friends (if you're musically inclined odds should be good you hang with other artsy folks and somebody's bound to be good at drawing) and ask/bribe/blackmail them into helping you design something cool.

you should ask a friend or hire a designer.
