How come nobody mentions Grado headphones? And check out Allen & Heath's new in-ears!

Hey everyone, random question. I remember last year when I was searching for a new pair of quality headphones, I was definitely looking into Grado as well. I eventually decided with the Sennheiser HD-25's after all the good reviews/research.

But what's up with Grado? They're super high quality too. Are they more just for listening? How come nobody ever recommends them or talks about them? Do people not know about them? Just wondering.

And Allen and Heath just came out with in-ears! The Xone XD-20 for $100 http://www.allen-heath.co.uk/xone/xd20.

What do you guys think of Grado and the new A&H in-ears?

Grados are reeeaalllly nice, but I don't think they'd hold up too well as part of a dj rig. Those stay at home or in the studio for production.

Grado makes high end headphones, but they have no isolation whatsoever ;)

THIS. I've listened to some Grado's and they're great... but they aren't rugged enough for DJing and as addictive said, NO isolation.

I have a set of Grado SR80s and they are phenomenal for listening if you want a solid clear and completely neutral sound. I tend to prefer open ear style headphones for basic listening as you get a better soundstage just in terms of the perception of space. But because of that you also get no sound isolation, you hear whatever else is going on around you, so they are impractical for DJing. For production their lack of coloration is probably a good thing but again you are also listening without isolation -- that can be a good or bad thing depending on your goals.
