MFT - Possible to change default on and off colour via CC?

I am able to change the current off colour for an encoder using a CC message. However if that encoder switch is used to toggle on/off, it defaults back to the default (duh).

What I'd like to do is be able to change the default colour, rather than just the current colour. Possible?

My use case is that I use a clyphx pro rebind action to rebind encoders 9-16 to a different macro set in ableton through press of an encoder switch, and I then change the off colour so I remember the state. Reverting the binding by pressing the encoder switch again, changes the colours back.
