Default MacBook Pro USB shutdown due to overcurrent

    Hi there,

yesterday it was the second time the USB host was shut down due to a error message that was telling me that the connected device was drawing to much current.

It's a MacBook Pro 2.2 and i had the Ohm64 connected to the right side. I read out the required current for that device and it said 464mA.

I read also at the NI page that someone which is using the Audio8DJ had the same problem and he read 483mA.

Does someone have a solution for this or good advice ?? My thoughts tend to the solution of buying a powered USB hub.

BTW: i was using the right hand side USB port when that happened !!

On that older model MBP the USB on the right side shares it's power with the trackpad. It's best to use the one on the left hand side. Put the Audio8 or whatever sound card you use in the right side. See if that is any better for you. This is a known issue, only way around it if what I suggested doesn't work is to use a powered hub and make sure that's plugged into the left side USB port.
