    Default Djtech i-mix opinions/ questions

i was briefly concerned with the derision to be made as to whether to buy this controller or not, but then I remembered djtechtools, needless to say, im not fracking worried anymore

i have had my eye on this for awhile. it basically seems to be a vci 100, with a sound card. it has the same bizzare layout with only one FX bank and all that, and it seems to be a decent controller on paper.

i am wondering if any of you have this controller and can attest to the quality of the buttons and knobs? but the real make or break for me is the sound card. I anyone could let me know how good it is that would be awesome.

i realize that there Is an original i-mix and then an i-mix mkii. Information on any of these would be helpful, and maybe what the similarities/differences are (their web site sucks).

    many thanks

I just sold an i-mix ce to a fellow forum member that i used with no issues for over 2 years. Would defo recommend one as a first controller. Personally i would stay away from controllers that have a built in soundcard, get an audio 2 instead.

ya i would definatley agree with you, but i really need a mic input, and the only non NI cards that have it are either too expensive or terrible, and the only NI that does have it is the upcoming audio 10 which is way overkill for me at this point

so how was the sound quality of the i-mix sound card compared to say, the audio 2 or 4?

thanks in advance for the help

The CE was just a controller, no soundcard. TBH i couldn't tell you the quality of their soundcards man.

The NI Audio Kontrol 1 (now discontinued, but still available in stores for about $180 US) is 4 output, 2 input (mic, line, inst) and comes with a few useful midi buttons / knob that can be put to good use with Traktor.

I have one and use it with a Kontrol 1. Don't need anything else for a 2 deck rig, and it fits in a laptop bag.

    Cheers, Drex
