Default Making my own controller - button question

    Hi!

I'm building my own controller, like my midi-fighter but this is gonna be a bit different I'll keep you updated and there might be an article with pictures, tips and videos.

But my question is about the buttons.

I'm gonna have 6 arcadebuttons and beside them i'm thinking about about having 5 buttons for choosing deck A-D and loop mode.

My question is : Can one map the buttons so that when the "loop"-button has been pressed the 6 buttons does slicing and when the "Deck A"-button has been pressed (once, not holding it down) the 6 arcade buttons is controlling the Cue points and so on.

    Is this possible?

erm... arenīt you going to want to have loop functionality on all of your 4 decks? How is this 'loop mode' supposed to work?

yep, if i got you right, this is absolutely possible.

    just ride the modifiers...

have the [loop]/[A] button on Direct, and give them different values of the same modifier (0-8)
have the 6 arcade buttons mapped as you require + modifier-state as mentioned above.

Well i thought the loop button would work with the active deck ( i have 4 deck buttons). Or am i getting it all wrong?

Do I need 4 loop buttons for every deck to? or just have 4 regular deck buttons (A-D) and the loop button to work with the active deck?

Yep that will work but might become confusing knowing which deck is focused if you don't have led feedback.
