Dismantling a BCD3000
Hi guys
I bought myself a BCD3000 about 6 months back, and now, I think it's accumulated enough gunk for the jogwheels and faders to not work properly. It's probably time for me to give it a nice alcohol bath and return it to spanking new condition.
Can someone please give me a walkthrough of how to dismantle the BCD3000 without breaking stuff? I am especially stuck on how to remove the side panels. They are attached to the main chassis with a hook that looks like it might break off if I try to pull off the panel.
Also, any advice on how to clean up my jogwheels and make them rotate smoother?
There's a video about this on youtube, but it's too fast to make sense of what's happening.
Would appreciate any help on this.. Especially from someone who has tried this on the same machine..
Thanks a lot guys.. Looking forward to a response
Regards
Siddhartha

Um I pulled my BCR apart a year or so ago to figure out how the made the encoders so cheaply (still havent put it back together again yet...
From memory there is a bunch of screws on the bottom (near the side edges) which need to be removed as well

I broke 1 of the clips off when I took my BCD2000 apart by following (presumably) the same video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqQaSbsQVqY). Pay close attention to the angle they come off at and which end the guy takes off first if u want to keep the hooks.
Tbqh tho I can't see any point in the hooks being there as you can't tell which side I broke the clip and which side is still intact now I've screwed it all back together again, so I wouldn't worry too much if u break 1 off.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I am having trouble taking apart my BCD3000 (Doing it because there are some loose parts and one of the faders got crushed when I had it in my backpack so I need to try to put it back).
How do you take the sides off? I unscrewed everything that seemed relevant but there is resistance near the Search buttons above the tempo faders. Is there a screw there or do I just need to give it a good pull?
Thanks for the help!
EDIT: Nevermind, I just ripped it off lol ... no idea how you are supposed to do it otherwise
