    Default hercules rmx modification

    hi,

it´s my first time here, so be friendly!
also because my english sucks because I´m from germany.....

I think about to modify my rmx console. i want to use other potis and fader but i don´t know what kind of potis and faders i can use (equipment compatibility). which type of knobs (firm, etc.) i have to purchase?

And is it possible to change the jogwheels? Can I buy these things separately?

..and please don´t comment like: "blaaaahhh... buy a better console!!!"

    best regards
    robert

Firstly I would recommend trying smaller projects before embarking on 'modifying' a working controller.

I haven't yet, but I would recommend if you are embarking on this task take the controller apart, so that you can see the circuit board and what you have to work with. I was tempted to do this earlier this year but I weighed up the risks of modifying it and invalidating its warranty and thought best not to.

Instead I built a custom MIDI controller using 8 pots, it taught me a few valuable lessons of costing and designing the controller to be the most ergonomic friendly. Now we are now drawing up plans for a much bigger controller

Good luck in your task though

Also I would recommend looking at dj's face based in Germany who produce the UV responsive fader / encoder knobs for DJTT. As it was much cheaper for me to deliver it from over the stream rather the pond

They have a decent built quality and really do help in a dark club environment

I visited this internet site but i didn´t found any informations if the knobs are compatible with the rmx console.
so i have to send them a small message, i think...
