    Default Question about speakers

I bought myself a pair of these for a good deal:

I've had them for a while now, and they're good for small ish events, but I also think they sound really harsh. I feel like I'm always taking the highs down and pumping the bass 'cause they're not big enough to get nice lows. Do you have to bite the bullet and drop some coin to get speakers that can pump out big bass? Or are there cheapish solutions? I've been playing gigs and earning some money, I was thinking about investing it in sound rather than more controllers haha.

unless you spend big bucks on speakers, you are (almost) always gonna get either harsh highs or muddy midrange... especially when you are trying to pump them.

a sub wouldn't hurt and will help you out a bit.

the sub will help by allowing some bottom end without the need to overdrive the shit out out your speakers - its the overdriving in your attempt to get some bass that would be contributing to your harsh highs.

Gt active speakers less trouble and if you kill one amp you still got the other speaker. People usually expect alot from speakers, and buying theese would almost assure you blow out the coil
