S4 + Midi Controller

I am looking to have more than 2 tracks and 8 samples. I only require 4 samples to be beat matched so I have been considering purchasing a cheap midi controller for simple samples and connecting it via one of the S4 channels. Any recommendations?

X-1 would do it and alot more, or you could just get an LPD8, Pad Kontrol, Nano pad, etc.

nope, not as long as you have selected a different USB IN/OUT port. You can add as much controller as you have USB port... and patience to do the MIDI mapping

I think he ment different midi channel, not USB port.
