Default Possible to RUn TWO s2's??? HELP

So Me and my buddy are trying to start a side project together as a Duo. we both have s2's. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible for us to run 2 laptops and 2 s2's ? he controls his and i control mine and mix together what we are each doing individually. My thought was two run each of our individual set ups through a two channel mixer using its crossfader to mix and switch between what he's playing and what I'm playing, like a rane 61 or 62 for example. Is this close to possible or am i dreaming?

If this is possible is there a better way of setting it up rather than using two s2's? any advantage to each using an s4 instead?

So basically we'd have a mixer in the middle an s2 and laptop on one side and a loptop and s2 on the other with 4 jogwheels total

actually that's quite a nice way to get 4 decks.. liking your thinking

prolly not cost much more than buying one S4 and a lot more flexible (especially if you're dj'ing with someone else at the same time)

ha, thanks. why keep it simple right? i just pictured it in my head and thought it'd be a sweet way for us to both feel in control and accomplish the same thing. rather than both being huddled around a small s4 ya know?

Sometimes, I play with another DJ "battle style" she uses Serato and a pair of Pioneer CDJs, I use an S2 and Midi fighter Pro with Traktor Pro. We both have total control of our stuff and we both run on the same mixer. Just different channels nothing too complicated. The best part is beatmatching by ear and Playing on time.

Basically you'll be running the same concept. Let us know how it ends.

I do this... I actually use a little behringer mixer to combine the two s2's but have been thinking of using my DJM 707 since it sounds better than the behringer

Why not one laptop with one mapped to a and b and other to c and d or make it interesting and control a and c and b and d?

Great points and ideas, thanks everyone. Will list the final setup when we give it a go. Thanks again for the input!

I'd go with a standard 2x4 style setup. Both of you using your own S2 and Laptop, with the output going to a central mixer, which goes out to the crowd. Both people playing on one S4 is too cramp... one laptop controlled by 2 S2's is possible, i guess, but enjoy mapping that mess (how could both controllers browse and select from the library at once?).
