NEW HP ENVY 14 Beats Laptop and Kontrol S4, issues...
First off, I just got the new Envy Beats because I had the previous years model and it was on par. I decided to spring for some additional ram and processor speed.
Specs:
HP ENVY 14 beats Edition customizable Notebook PC
• 2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.1
• 1GB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6630 switchable Graphics [HDMI, Mini Display Port]
• 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM)
• 750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
I've tried Traktor and my Kontrol S4 out of the box with the bloatware version of windows as well as a clean slimmed down version of Windows 7 Utimate (same version as my previous beats laptop).
I have ran every optimization tip as well as disabled WiFi and also antivirus. I have tried disabling every service that is not warranted for windows and USB to work and I have nothing but problems.
I can load traktor and map the audio to the internal two outputs and it works fine, the problem is introduced when I run setup for Kontrol S4 and connect via USB (in the v2 ports). Every time it locks up my traktor application and I have to kill the process, bounce the controller and try again. I can reduplicate at will.
I have tried reinstalling many ways including testing between every driver installation. I also have updated the bios to the latest. No luck.
Anyone with one of these laptops get Traktor and the Kontrol S4 to work?
See the below link to see more details. HELP!

There are know issues with nvidia graphics cards that are fixable. I've got 3 Windows 7 machines running Traktor and my Kontro S2, one of which I experienced some audio drop problems with.
Sounds to me like the Beats sound card is territorial, see what you can do about reverting the machine to a regular/default type of sound card driver and go from there.
Or disable the Beats card then try connecting your S4.
I dunno. There's a lot of trial and error with these things sometimes. The other day when I routed Ableton to Traktor via Virtual Audio Cable and Asio4All I was having all sorts of issues, then I opened NI's Control Panel and clicked something in the Device Monitor section and voila!
Don't give up I'm sure it will work.
Also have you tried running this script?

I've used it, although I've found it's not necessary, with no probs at all.

Great news and an update (after spending over a week pulling my hair out and intalling various different OS configurations).
Solved and Resolved No thanks to NI support. *jab*
So the issue was with my library of music. Somewhere in the copy process from my old laptop to my new one something was changed and Traktor Pro 2 thought they were corrupt.
To resolve the issue I used a program called Platinum Notes (www.platinum notes.com) to re-analyze and re-encode my entire library. I am now up and working.
