KRK rokit 8 G1 deal?

So my birthday is next monday, and I'm thinking of asking for money towards some studio/ live gear. I was originally planning on grabbing a UC-33e, but the only speakers I have as of now are desktop speakers. And I'm getting into production/ I dj a little.
The guy is asking 300, is this a good deal for Rokit 8 G1's or should I talk him down? Everything else on cl around here is rokit 5's with people asking close to retail...
