Hello DJTT forum!

Just a little hello from my side.

To introduce myself:

I am quite new to DJing, not quite new to music. I live and work in Cologne, Germany as an IT admin for a On-demand streaming music service. While looking around for interesting information about DJing I stumbled across this site.

Musically I (can) play trumpet (not so much in the last years) and bass-guitar. I also mixed some live recordings and "produce" some 8bar music at home using any sw that just fits my needs, mostly Ableton Live. Ableton Live brought me into the DJing thing since I had the most fun mixing music on the fly with a friend of mine using two machines and Ableton.

I still cannot decide which tool or controller to use. I play around with Itch offline, have a Traktor Pro 2 license and of course Live. The easiest tool so far was Itch that I was able to play with in the local music store using a DDJ-S1. Traktor wise I used the DDJ-T1 over a weekend which one of my bosses lend me. Both made big fun for me but exceed my space and my budget. So I am still looking for my solution but I am in no hurry, doing this only for my pleasure.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum, I'd say concentrate on the software first and work out what you like most, then you can decide controllers later

Yes. That was my thought, too. But only setting loops and cue points in Itch/Serato does not give a goog feeling about how to handle it with a controller. I guess I will work with Traktor a while and see if I can work around the static beatgrid a bit. That's the most annoying part so far now.

BTW: Why the ... did my first post land here in gear?
