game controller to midi controller?

Hi,
I was bored and got to thinking. Has anyone ever modded a gamed controller to a midi controller. If so if you could make a guide for me, or direct me to one. I think this would be a fun little weekend project to do. Thank you for the help (hopefully)

Wll you have come to the right place sir. There's a button up top called search, and I assure you, there are more gamepad to midi controller threads than your eyes will be able to handle. So get your solder gun, a playstation controller, and a hack saw, and click that search.

dont tell anyone but the 1st dj "midi" controllers were just modded gaming controllers. Heck my 1st one was a Hercules DJ Consule and my mac & pc saw it as a Gaming controller.

I imagine you could do some interesting things with this:

That's 102 separate buttons on the neck plus 6 strings. It even has a midi out connection built in(as does the rockband keyboard)
