Aftertouch DIY MIDI Glove
Merry Christmas everybody!
I would like to present you something that I've built a couple of days ago!
I call it the aftertouch (also fappatron) but suggestions for more creative names are welcome
After talking with and being heavily inspired by Shingo Inao and Onyx Ashanti it occurred to me that I had to build something more expressive, that can be used more like an instrument, not just a controller. I really love the tilt sensors on the MF3D, tough I wanted it to be as close to my body as possible, but also I still wanted to be able to use that hand for mixing.
So I've put an accelerometer and infrared sensors, as well as few buttons and an RGB LED on this glove and programmed it recognize some guestures/key combinations.
Building this was cheap as dirt and literally took me a couple of hours to put together!
Probably the most cheap-expressive effects controller evah(?)
What do you think?
you will find ( probably sometime soon [hopefully]) more technical details, as well as source code and schematics, over at my blog: www.tomashg.com
