    Default Effective Use of Effects

I was invited to a small club in my area to do a quick set. The above is what I yielded.

I would like to know, do I overuse effects? If so where did I do this?

I haven't listened to your set, but I assume like myself, a lot of people would say they're too busy to even open it, nevermind listening to a whole set.

What I can say is this...Less is more. Doesn't matter how well the effects are executed, if you do it too much it's overkill. How much is too much? Well...I think that depends on what style of DJ'ing. If you're doing button-mashing or finger-drumming I think you're at liberty to go nuts...But if you're mixing tracks together, people might actually want to hear the music and/or lyrics. In regards to lyrics, I'd say no effect are the best bet. Using a flanger, phaser, or filter, just makes it hard to hear the lyrics. A well-executed delay, or beatmasher might add a certain element to vocals, but again, I wouldn't overdo it.
