    Default Controller dispute

Im looking to upgrade my set and i was not sure which would be better overall from your opinions.
At the moment i have a maschine mikro and was thinking of getting a Kontrol S4 at first.
Then i saw different things online and now im desputing between the Pioneer DDJ-SX and the soon to be released Numark NS7 II.
Thanks you to anyone who gives their opinion

DDJ-SX. The NS7 is a lot of fun, but in the scenario you ever end up playing somewhere that doesn't let you place your huge NS7 somewhere, you'll be prepared and practiced to use the cdj's since you DDJ-sx at home works very similar.

Lots and lots of threads on this.
Do you use traktor? Do you want to put the mapping work in? Budget? What do you like about those 3? If you are asking which is better? They are all better, and worse than eachother in different aspects.

Depends on software. If you want Serato, SX or NS7 II. If you want Traktor, I'd go for the S4, however the others work well with Traktor. In terms of portability I think the S4 is the smallest and the NS7 II would be a pain in the ass to carry with. In terms of features, I gotta say what I said earlier. If you want Serato, both controllers are beasts and will cover all the features. If you want Traktor, the S4 is cool because it comes with full Traktor version, however I think it's lacks of features in comparison with the other 2 controllers, but if you use the Maschine Mikro, it could be a nice combo. Pick carefully!

The NS7 and SX will have a better build quality as well.

Size becomes less and less relevant as you move towards 4 channel controllers. Either you have a huge table with unlimited space, or you're in a small booth where fitting in any large controller is impossible.

The NS7 is insanely heavy though.

    This is how it goes:
-If you are planning to go mobile, get the s4 or the ddj-sx
-If you're planning on integrating your maschine into your workflow seamlessly, get the s4
-If you're planning on integrating your maschine into your workflow, sacrificing 1:1 mapping in traktor and adding latency to the jogs, get the ddj-sx
-If you're planning on practising at home and you like the feel of vinyl, ( also sacrificing 1:1 mapping in traktor and adding latency to the jogs), wait for the ns7 II. Why for home? Because the ns7 already is almost 3x as heavy as the ddj, the ns7 II probably coming in at closer to 4x given the additional functions, so you're not really carrying that badboy around easily unless you're The Rock.

Also as other people mentioned, think first about booth dimensions, the ddj and most of all the ns7 are MASSIVE in terms of size. So you may not be able to accomodate both the controller and your laptop

    Default Controller picks

Alright so i've narrowed it down to 2 controllers, Pioneer DDJ-SX and Traktor Kontrol S4.

Heres the deal, i own a maschine mikro which would go great with the S4 but i could also sell it and make extra cash and have the DDJ-SX which is basically the s4 with the mikro all in one.

    please leave your thoughts
