    Default PC Latency Optimization

I've been having a lot of problems with my computer's latency during audio. I've been getting random drop outs, and clicks. I've ran a latency checker, and optimized it but it comes back after a while. I run serato on my dell inspiron 17, and use a denon mc2000 controller. Has anyone else been having this kind of problem? I'd love some tips on this guys

I had PC years ago and many drop outs, try increasing the latency slider.
This was only a temp fix for me, I had to get a mac because the solution is dangerous.
You need to stop a driver called ACPI.SYS, that is what does it, this driver controls the battery, you must disable it and pray your charging wire does not come out or your pc will shutdown, but no more drop outs!
I got a MAC and never had a problem again, you can even buy a refurbished 2010 or newer and it will be stable if apple certified, very rarely do these have those issues.

Instead of disabling ACPI, just take your battery out!

I'm not joking - I've been running my Vaio like this for years...

But personally that little wire coming undone being what controls the music for 500 maybe 800 guests dancing on the floor, unacceptable for a professional DJ, might as well get a desktop. I feel as professionals we shouldnt take risks or use fixes that are so unstable like this, im told VDJ and Traktor barely dropout so if you need PC go that route, but if serato and complete stability is inportant, get a Mac.

Mmmmmmm..... risky unless your laptop is in a position where you know the power cable isn't going to get knocked/pulled out!

I was going to comment saying what happens if the power goes out. but if the power goes out then the speakers do as well, so it doesn't really make a difference......

Its best def to use something stable im all cases, some windows machines function well with traktor and vdj but as of now i dont know a pc that is stable for serato. I was a Pc fanboy before. Like to be safe and get whats the best long term plan, i wouldnt drive with a spare tire too long would you? 70mph speeding on a highway?

That's what duct tape is for.

My laptop is primarily used for college, and for my music on top of that. I think i'll just end up buying a mac dedicated for music.

Use process hacker to suspend the ACPI threads. Solved all issues for me. Don't forget to restart those threads before shutting down.

That would work, but hey, would you drive a car with a punctured tire and just duct tape to fill the hole? When it comes to highway driving? 😛😛😛
