[Question] Using using same speakers for production and DJing
My setup is connected via the configuration picture below.

I thought by using this setup, the sub would filter which system (DJ or production) to output based on which one was providing an output. However, in practice that hasn't shown to be through and the TRS (production) setup seems to take priority.
When I try to DJ, without my laptop connected to the soundcard, I get no sound from the KRK monitors. If I unplug the TRS cables from the sub or soundcard then I can DJ with sound.
My question is this, is there some kind of switch I can buy to select which source my subwoofer sees? I was thinking I could connect both the XLR and TRS cables to the switch, then connect the switch to the subwoofer. If seen switches for XLR only or TRS only, but none that accept both inputs. Worse comes to worst, I guess I could buy some XLR to TRS cables for the mixer and use a switcher.

The simplest solution is just to buy a small powered mixer like a small 4 or 8 channel Mackie. Instead of "switching" you'll be able to hook up multiple inputs and send through a main output. I would recommed a the vlz 402 by Mackie, but you could even go with a cheap behringer 4 channel mixer and be fine.
