Default Switching from NV to Quad PL1s and a MM-1, good idea?

I'm debating a jump back to Traktor from Serato, right now I'm thinking of switching from a NV over to a quad PL1 setup with a single MM-1, some sort of audio card (probably something producer oriented to do double duty and let me jump into that party :P), and ideally some auxiliary controller with touch strips that will give me a way to needle search. That would pretty much be my grail, short of getting it on with 2000s and a DJM900, except a lot cheaper and portable than the 2000s.

I figure that it would let me do a few things that I can't currently do on most controller setups. A, I'd actually have four platters in front of me, instead of having to toggle between deck sides. I don't usually use 4 decks, but when I'm experimenting, it's annoying when I need to triple check that I've switched from deck 1 to deck 3 when doing a more complex movement. B, a modular setup like this speaking through multiple MIDI channels would let me do a lot more at once. One problem I've run into a whole lot of times is hitting too many buttons simultaneously. Random example, I recently tried something weird like reverse playing the intro of a 128bpm track for 32 beats, then flipping it into normal play while simultaneously starting the vocal section of the breakdown of the same track on another deck, causing it to sort of mix into itself. Needless to say, MIDI hiccuped and couldn't tell what to do when starting the breakdown deck. There are other things; I suppose it's just the way the NV is laid out, but I can't modify an effect while simultaneously pressing one of the effect buttons on the other side without some wonky signal getting shot out (e.g. effect turning off, suddenly adjusts wrong knob, actuates the wrong button). C, if I get my mapping file right, I think I can make it so I can run quad deck mode, or alternatively just bring along two PL1's to go and still do the toggling between deck sides.

I'd assume someone else has mucked around with this before, has it worked well? Do the PL1's hold up on the long term? Any mapping issues with running a whole motherload of controllers at once in Traktor?

I run 4 Pl1's with an x-session and smartpad right now on traktor with no issues whatsoever.
