Hardware cycles: VCI 100

I keep thinking about getting one as a controller, and even with the DJTT mapping, I would still feel burned if they updated within the next year or two. I don't know much about hardware cycles for Djing equipment, so, any information would be pretty sweet.

As well, has anyone used a Stanton SCS3 system and liked it? I was looking at those as well but I can see those being kind of troublesome.

well, i recently had the same decision to make and settled for the scs3 system.
as much as i love the vci the ability to use nearly all my fingers to do stuff and the almost endless possibilties that it opens were more appealing than having tactile controls.
what i did was buy the scs3 and borrow a friends vci at the same time. before using it i thought i'd return the scs3 since i couldnt get my head around using my finger tips to control my software, but as soon as i discovered what was possible with it the vci started collecting dust.
i'd recommend buying/borrowing both controllers and keeping the one you prefer like i did.

ps: had no troubles whatsoever with the scs...everything works like a charm.

Hi,
I got a Full SCS system too, and I love it !!

However, I needed to purshase bome's midi translator to get a full access on these controllers ^^

I'm not a soft programmers but the programmation on bome's is quite easy

After you understand how it works, you can do anything with these controllers.

For the moment, I work on a preset which incorporate some features of the 3.5 tsi by DJtechtools

yeah, same here. received it today and starting to learn bome's (not that hard at all) to get the most out of these badboys.
the 20min limit on the demo is really annoying, so i'm going to buy it too.

vci-100 has already been "updated" by the vci-300, but of course they're two totally different controllers that work totally different. vci-100 is for the tweak heads out there who like to midi map, and vci-300 is out there for people who like all-in-one solutions and want to use itch. and of course there's the ns7 with the moving platters, which completely trumps both of those, if you like moving platters and being constrained to only using itch and being constrained to using a all-in-one unit. for me, vci-100 by far the best solution, because I like having options, using an external soundcard, using whatever software I want, and programming the thing to work how I want it to. somebody else may have a totally different take on it.

so really just get what you want, and don't worry about it getting replaced by something. if you a vci-100, get it, and if you want a scs system, get that.
