    Default M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2 or v3?

I'm looking to buy a oxygen 8 to start getting into some production and stuff. But anyways I see that there is a generation 2 and gen 3 version and I was just wondering what the real differences are and which one you recommend is better.

    thanks

v3 doesnt really exist i beleve i beleive v3 is called an oxygen 25 and i HIGHLY recomend v2, i have it and i know many others do, if you get it and you want to use it with traktor pro you can make use of eans mapping easily right away
ps. heres a vid of oxygen v2 with eans mapping

If you are going to use ableton or pro tools the Oxygen 49 is good.

yeh i just think the 49 would be a bit big hah...only have a small amount of room. But also with programs. I have used ableton at a mates and stuff and i used to use fruity loops a little on pc but now i have a mac so i cant. So whats a good program similar to fruity loops for mac? logic 9? I also found ableton just to hard to use thats all, even though it is pretty good.

The Oxygen 25 (v.3) is fully working with Eans mapping kind of right away and you get an extra fader. Does it seem like you're going to need/want a fader, go ahead and buy the Oxy25. Otherwise theres kind of no difference. I got the Oxy25.

The Oxy25 might be a better solution for you, it has something called DirectLink that lets you use it natively with GarageBand (the only controller I have seen to do so). Plus as Jipo says, there is a thread on here where I describe how to easily program Ean's mapping into the Oxy25 with a freeware application. Just search for it and it is at the end of the long "Official DJTT OXygen Mapping" thread.

Good luck, we can most likely help you with whatever your choice is (I have the Oxy25).
