Default Use knob for hold modifier?

Hey guys, I'm trying to map a modifier to one of the knobs on my lpd8. What I would like it to do is when the knob is in the off position(all the way to the left) have no modifier on, then when i turn it have it turn my modifier on but in hold mode so when I turn it back to off the modifier also turns off.

What happens when I attach a modifier in hold mode is it will turn it on but then when I turn the knob back off the modifier stays on.

My guess as to what is happening is that the modifier is staying on because once I turn the knob on it is initially in hold mode but it doesn't know to stop holding because the modifier is different. I don't think this should be happening because the modifier shouldn't be affected by other modifiers because I have not set it to react to any. All of my other button controls that I mapped to knobs work as they should(knob off = button off // knob on = button on[hold] // Knob off = button off).

Does anyone know of a fix to this?

Cant remember exactly but i'm sure i have done this before and i think its the fact your using hold mode that its not working. even though its a hold sort of function your after i think you need to use direct maybe.

If i get a sec and no one has answered i'll have a ganders and report back.

When I use direct mode with 2 modifiers (m1=0 and m1=1) it just switches back and forth between the two really quickly because the knob is cycling between the two.

actually ... just checked it and hold does work for me, so don't know what i was thinking of before.

Have your type set to button, not knob or fader.
