Default HELP!! setting up my S4 to the stereo

does the S4 have a way to plug in RCA 3 point cables?

if not do i need a converter?

or should i just get the TRS cables?

with is better for sound quality, and if my speakers go to my sub with the RCA cables can i then go from the sub to the S4 with the TRS or should the cables all be the same?

    HELP!!

Confusing stuff I know, but if you do a wikipiedia search for 'balanced audio' and 'unbalanced audio' you'll find the difference. Ideally you want to be using TRS (not TS) from your S4 to the Sub and TRS or XLR between the sub and monitors.

RCA in the case of audio signals is 2 cores, a left and a right, while TRS and XLR have 3 cores for a balanced signal. The 3 core RCA would have to be used with an adapter to XLR or whatever, don't even know if they're available.

That said, I assume you're running your cables over quite short distances so tbh 2 core RCA would do you just fine.

I have nEar 05 by ESi monitor speakers which are hooked up to my SW10k ESI Sub.

i think i know what i have to do from reading the comments.

i can run the XLR cables from my monitor speakers into the sub.
the from the sub i can run TRS cables into the back of the S4?

if someone can conform ill call my a audio shop and get the cables..

also is the sizing of the TRS cable input connecter the same as a headphone jack for the s4?

    thanks a lot guys
