Default Vestax Typhoon and an AMD CPU

Is there anyone that can give me a logical explenation why the Typhoon, a Midi-Controller depends on the CPU you have in your Computer/Notebook?

I'm referring to this note on the vestax page:

NOTE : Please check the specifications of your computer before purchasing Typhoon.Typhoon supports Intel Core Duo, but does not support Intel Celeron, Atom and AMD CPU.

    http://www.vestax.com/v/products/det...15&parent_id=8

I have and AMD64 and just don't seem to understand why this can't work...
Mayb I'm just bullheaded, since the Typhoon would have been such an easy solution for me

seems odd, maybe they have a problem with the driver or the software?

I thought they were releasing it for mac only anyway (spin software)

i thought the spin is more for the mac-users
and the typhoon is the "windows" version of it

This totally seems like a bullshit marketing ploy. But perhaps the bullshit marketing ploy is limiting what cpu's can use the product? I would at least email vestax support about it.

For some reason (I'm not a PC expert!), AMD is on Serato's and Vestax's "avoid" list:

    Serato: http://serato.com/faq/itch/#4781 and http://serato.com/faq/scratchlive#2617

Vestax: (note the Typhoon is NOT listed) http://help.vestax.co.jp/en/detail.p...id_page_url=49

NI do not seem to have issues, so traktor might work fine: http://www.native-instruments.com/kn...dio+processing

    That's so weird...

If I wasn't that short on cahs I'd just buy a Typhoon and test it out.
I messeged the Vestax Support about it, but didn't get an answer yet (message sent 3 days ago!)

I had a VCi 100 once and I used it with Traktor 3 and Pro for a little while with an old dell with an AMD, it worked fine! it was the audio I had issued with...i think thats more of a Windows thing though.

I dont see why the typhoon would be different.

I made an account to reply to this thread, as I hate when easy questions go unanswered.

I have an AMD Dual core Winblowz 7 64 BIT comp, and it worked fine once I installed the drivers from the disc that comes with it. Before that I was about ready to return it. I think Vestax was just drunk when they put that on the box

PS I found the driver disc in the envelope with the manual, so look around if you cant find it. If you absolutely cant find it tell me and I'll send you an ISO of it or something. This is an amazing controller and I'd love you to be able to use it.

As well hello to anyone else reading this! My names mstrFREELOVE, and I'll be poppin in on these forums more often!

By the way just to add some detail, it works in every way, before I even installed the drivers it was working as a plug n play audio device, routing whatever to whatever, as well as basic midi mapping functionality, but the moment I installed the drivers BAM I had a fully working amazing piece of hardware.

PS I'm launching a formal WTF @ Vestax for probably losing out on a LOT of sales due to that statement.
