Sound quality of rmx and pioneer amp?

Hi there having real issues with my rmx and vdj. I have a pioneeer home theatre amp and have tried all the different sound settings, and also tried dif inputs, but cant get the setup to not sound "tinny" i have also noticed that if i turn up the amp without any tracks playing i can hear what i can only describe as a radio signal, which when i unplug the rmx intantly goes, please help me if you have any ideas.

I think your problem might be VDJ, when i was starting out i used to use it alot and ALWAYS had sound issues whatever the output was.

so what was your solution? I have used traktor on it as well and sounds the same? My home theatre amp was very expensive, thought it might be something to do with it and the surround sound??

Oh right, i switched from to Traktor and things seemed to work themselves out? That was my solution!

What do you have the main volume on the RMX set at? If it is all the way up then it probably won't sound that great. Also make sure you are using a line level input on the stereo and not a phono input.

Are you saying that the "radio noise" you describe goes away when you unplug the RMX? If so there may be a grounding issue. As far as the audio sounding "tinny", are you sure all eq in the chain is flat? Also with home theater amps there are many things that can be your problem. First make sure you're set to a stereo output and not a 5.1 or Dolby ProLogic output. Second, do you have a sub hooked up to your system? Sometimes there's setting's on home theater amps that route a certain amount of signal, usually 100-80hz and below to a sub, especially if you have satellite sized speakers. If you give e a little more info on your total setup, maybe I can be of more help.

I had the "radio" noise with some devices in the past. It's like MW/SW radio and it's like I can hear the the data being read out of my hard drive. Can't suggest a permanent solution but have few ideas for what to try out:
1) if you're using laptop, try unplugging your laptop from the power source leaving it on battery only. Not a solution but will isolate if the power circuits is the cause.
2) if on desktop, try to have both the PC power plug and the amp into the same PDU. That worked for me on a desktop I've had, but never worked with a laptop.
3) try to bridge the units with a grounding wire. The Pio may not have a ground connector, as it most likely doesn't have a phono input. You could still do fine by attaching it to the rmx ground screw and to some of the outer RCA rims on the Pio reciever.

as per the sound quality - had (and still have) a Hercules DJ Console (MK1) since it was out back in 2003. The flattest, poorest sound I've ever got from a computer. Even the internal audio interfaces in my laptops over the years were better.
