Default Soundflower Causing Audio Delays in S4?

I have noticed that since I installed Soundflower I started to get a bit of delay or cracking when hitting the effects on the S4.
    Anyone else having this happen?

I have now uninstalled soundflower and it seems to have fixed the problem. I actually do not need Soundflower except for routing Ableton but I think I can actually do it by just using the Audio driver in the S4. Just thought this may help others out who are experiencing cracking in the effects which I have been reading about in the forum.

Yes, Soundflower can cause that, but it's unlikely if it's not used for any of the inputs/outputs in the Traktor software. If you want to make sure Soundflower doesn't interfere with anything without actually uninstalling it then just make sure it doesn't run while you are using Traktor. As far as I know, Soundflower has no effect on anything when it's not running.

Soundflower's really useful but can be buggy.

For example, I use it for routing my system audio to my Audio 8 (it means I can still control the volume with the MBP volume buttons) while Traktor is of course routed directly to the Audio 8. However, i find that sometimes it generates an audio delay for no reason (really noticeable when watching video). This is fixed by deselecting then reselecting the Audio 8 in Soundflowerbed, but still annoying.

    What's your latency set at?

from native instruments: soundflower can not only cause latency with the s4 but also cause traktors4 to repeatedly crash and fatal error....

i uninstalled after they told me that

only if you use it as the traktor soundcard...

    which would be stupid anyway.

I wouldn't necessarily call it stupid, just because it's still one of very few ways to route audio from Traktor to Ableton which many people including myself want to be able to do without using an additional audio interface and/or another laptop. I just wish it was more stable...

ok, no offence meant, maybe ill advised. Try JackPilot. Less easy to set up but I believe it's a bit more stable.
