Hello mapping guru's

I've been developing my own mapping for Trakto Pro and my VCI-100 (FW 1.4), but have some niggling issues I thought I'd throw to the community...

I have mapped Record to start/stop when Shift button (M1=1) is pressed + Sampler button is hit. This works fine. However I also want the button to light up when recording is on, but only when the shift button is pressed. I thought I could do this by having the LED output note mapped to include M1=1, but the light stays on whether shift is pressed or not. What am I missing here?
