    Default Crane Stand with S4

Placing order with DJTT for S4 bag and thinking of adding Crane stand to basket - DOES IT FIT UNDERNEATH THE S4 - i.e. BETWEEN THE S4 AND A SHELF PLACED ON A KEYBOARD STAND?
    Thank you.

I wish to place a shelf on the keyboard stand, so as to fit a laptop stand. Initially I thought of an Odyssey (using "C" clamps), but after reading the DJTT review on the Crane, it seems like a better buy. Will the leg of the stand fit underneath an S4 as is, or will the S4 need to be raised?

    Thanks PJ.

the S4 is very low. in position, where the Crane's bottom console would be placed to sit flat, the S4 "might" fit above, but it will be very close. It will either touch, or bump it a bit.

I don't own a Crane, but that's my gut feeling.

I think you are right loop - Crane stands are not available in SA - so I think I need someone has (tried) this set-up.

    I have tried.

You would need to raise the S4 (4 rubber feet will do it) a little bit to make it fit.

However, then you have a stand directly above your controller. This is a suboptimal setup: as it is directly between you and the audience.

Put the stand to the side so your laptop is in your peripheral vision instead.

Good point. Trying to optimize my 'home' set-up, a gig IS different. Apropos rubber feet - check out 'Cool Feet' by Blue Lounge - amazing product. They bring an X1 up to console height.

Hey JB, i've just tried the S4 with the crane stand now, and it actually works pretty well. I haven't played a live gig with it though but I reckon it would do the trick. Depending on how brutal you are with the controller, it does tend to bounce slightly when you press any buttons on the S4. Don't know if that could be a deal breaker, but I personally use it for the laptop, and not the controller. Took some pics to give you a better idea
