Beatmasher / Beatroll on the S4

So I just watched Ean's awesome tutorial on making build ups with beatmasher, my question is how does he do that first build up (the one at 1:20)?

It seems like loops to me, not beatmasher or any effect till the end drop, if anyone would help me I'd appreciate it.

On the MIDI fighter with the instant gratification mapping the second row is all beatmasher. You get the same effect if you were to loop and roll the loop down, but it's much more controllable with the beatmasher. Just in case you don't know the Beatmasher is pretty much using loops. It samples and replays what is for the next (for example) 3/16 of a measure and replays it when that section is done. That's how it works, so it's pretty much just like looping.

Yeah, I just really like how you can control it on the pads and how you can easily juggle between loop lengths, I feel like it might be a beast to map by itself, but I really feel like it will be worth it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

yea, it's the beatmasher with the parameter set at a lower value than the other three buttons. instead of a steady beatroll, you get that dun...dun-dun, dun...dun-dun (as opposed to a dun-dun-dun-dun)--if that makes any sense.
