What do you think of this modular setup?
I had to return the twitch I bought, even though it was a beautiful controller and I really wish I could have gotten it to work but alas it wouldn't power on no matter what I did.
So I've been trying to figure out what gear to purchase instead, and I'm pretty sure I want to build modular. I don't want to spend a ton because my production setup sucks most of money, and honestly the dj gear is going to be something to relax and have fun with. But I also don't want to buy gear (like a mixtrack) that I'm only going to replace completely after a year or two. So modular sounds like the best option, allowing me to build up a decently quality set up in small chunks. Plus I love customizing my midi setups to exactly what I want.
I'm thinking of 2x traktor x1 mk1 + behringer cmd mm-1.
I got the idea from a couple of ean's recent videos where he uses 2x x1s and a mixer.
The traktor controllers seem to have great midi mapping community support here. I don't know exactly what to do with my mixer section, obviously need 4 faders and 4 knobs for eqing/filter and the MM-1 was about the only option I could find that wasn't an analogue mixer.
Does this sound like a decent arrangement? Would it cover everything I'd need? I don't plan on scratching because that's a whole other skill I doubt I could ever be decent at. I do have traktor and the couple times I've used it I find myself mostly doing cue point juggling and trying to find fx ttricks.
