Now that its been some time since the s4 came out, which one is better? is it just personal preference? does the s4 have any more functionality then the vci or vice versa?

The S4 has a built-in soundcard and is capable of DVS with the upgrade to TSP2. Other than that, its largely personal preference. The S4 also has a 4-channel mixer onboard, while the VCI has 2. Search the forums for this, its been brought-up a lot and there are plenty of posts that point-out fine details between the two.
