Beatmasher/S4 + Filter
Hey guys,
I was on the other section of the forum and trying to find the answer of my S4 + Midi Fighter. What I'm trying to do is to use beatmasher and at the same time, apply filter effect on top of the beatmasher. Do you guys have an idea how I can set this up on the S4, because with the DJTT instant gratification mapping, once you press beatmasher, you can't apply any filter effect. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Sona

hey,
thanks for the quick reply. my question is that after apply beatmasher effect on my mf, my filter ef will not work, however, on DJTT youtube page, on the amazing buildup part 1 (beat roll), he was able to use the filter effect after pressing down the beatmasher.
So my question is how to do it? Or is the S4 needs special set up?
thanks again,
sona

Is the blue light next to the filter knob in traktor lit up?

the filter knob on the s4 automatically engages the filter 'on' so unless you didn't update your version of traktor and as long as you're using the embedded mapping, there's no reason your filter knob shouldn't work.

On my S4, the filter works fine without using the Midi Fighter. It also works fine with my Midi Fighter plugged into my Mac. Only time my filter knob won't do anything is when I press on the Midi Fighter.
My S4 software is up to date.
Please help guys, this is getting frustrating.
Thanks,
Sona

"my S4 software is up to date"...you mean Traktor Pro 2, not the S4 version....
Does it work when you use other effects then the filter like slicer+ filter?

I had a look through the effects in detail section of the manual and as I suspected it says that the effects in insert (standard) mode are before the filter in the audio chain. The beatmasher detail doesn't mention the filter being deactivated while the beatmasher is on, so i don't know why it wouldn't work.

The first version(s) of the s4 software didn't allow you to add the filter after applying fx(s), hence my question about the software being up to date (in other words you probably shouldn't have this issue if you're using TP2, but that's a guess of course but it's an important precision).

I'm using the S4 software, not TP2. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sona
