Default Selling Serato SL3 for Traktor Kontrol S2 or S4?

Hey DJTT! I love this website, and the forum. I just registered, and I just had a really quick question!

Right now, I own Serato SL3, two turntables, and a mixer.

However, I really want to switch to Traktor, and either pick up the S4 or the S2.

I'm in a bit of a predicament. I really don't have the money right now to go out and buy either the S2 or the S4. So I'm thinking of just selling my SL3, because if I just switch to Traktor, and pick up the traktor Scratch pro 2 for the 150$.

My question is which should I buy, the S2 or the S4?

Meaning, what are the major differences between the two?

    Thanks again!

The S4 simply for the fact that the S2 can not be used as an audio interface for timecode with Traktor. I could go on with other reasons but that should be enough.

What about using Traktor Scratch Pro 2?

Ahh, because of the lack of inputs I guess..

    The extra 500$ though..

For Traktor Scratch to work, you need either an S4, Audio 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10.

It's really all about what you're looking for. I have an S4, the size doesn't bother me (I make room for it in booths hahaha), and I wouldn't want to lose the features that it has over the S2. For many people, the S2 is a better option.

Hmmmm. I imagine you're running time code with it as well.

    Alright, well thanks!

I am not, I either use the S4 by itself (which I really don't mind at all) or CDJs with my tracks on a USB stick. And no problem!

    Oh! Yeah ok.

What I'm doing right now is just looking for a used one in my area. How much should I pay for a used one in good condition?

Also what should I look out for when buying used?

Look at what they have been going for in the buy/sell forum here. If it were me, I'd check that all the knobs and faders feel good and test everything out if possible.

Sadly I wasn't really able to find threads for selling the S4. I found one which was 600 euros though. I still just feel that's a little high for buying used, shouldn't it be like 50-70% of retail?
