question using cdj with s4
Is it possible to connect two pioneer CDJ 850k's or 1000 mk3's to the S4 and map the s4 to be used as a midi controller? iv been thinking about doing this for awhile and i wanna know if its possible before i invest in the cdj's.

Yes, it can be done. Are you planning on using timecode or simply run the CDJs though the S4 like it was a regular mixer?

No worries then, just plug them in and set C and D to live input, just remember the S4 can't be used without a computer.

i figured that would be easiest. now for the next question what model Pioneer CDJ would you recommend for that, cuz i don't have much experience with cdj's so would the 850's do the job or should i go for the 1000's....the 2000's are out of the question they are much too expensive!! and thank you so much for your info.

Both of them will do the job equally fine. Going for the 850 will give you the extra features of the new line such as RecordBox.
