Thread: Reloop Contour?

    Default Reloop Contour?

Have read some reviews about it but not many feedbacks from normal users to this reloop controller. Also could not find any good video of this unit.

I mean it seams like the perfect controller for me. With the interface edition i could use the club mixer and i just had to bring my laptop, my reloop contour and my lauchpad into the club. A professional, not that expensive setup.

do you have the controller? what do you say about it?

Would like to know the same thing... looks neat heard some negative feedback regarding button durability on other reloop units and would like to know if anyone has used this.

Also, are these minifaders useful at all?

    Cheers

    Hey ZiiK,

i bought the Contour now like some weeks ago without any feedback and i love it! It is very flexible in use with all the different controls and layers ( like 8! ) because of the 4 channels AND the shift button it gives a lot of different midi notes out. It has awesome build quality and even if the mini faders are a little bit short, it is way more fun and way usefull i think to use them for the effects. hope that helps you

The Reloop Contour is a underestimated controller. Pricing and brandname unfortunately bring that to the table.

Truth is, this is a much more brilliant controller than one could imagine. The touch sensitive jog, the rotaries, buttons and mini-faders are much better than initially thought.

I might even rank it higher than it's counterparts, even though some would say I'm blaspheming.

layerwise it looks exactly like what I need.

Just a little put of by the talk about bad customerservice and quality!?

is any of the knobs hardwired to anything? Or is everything midimappable?

And do you guys use traktor or other software?
Seen something about the midi signals from the encoders could cause trouble outside of traktor.

    cheers for sharing your experience!
    Much appreciated!

as i said the build quality is very professional. I don't have any experience with the customer service yet, but i will contact them now because they have to update their mapping for the sample decks for TP 2.1. Then i may see what you mean

I didn't had any problems with mapping everything, but i just use traktor with this controller

did you get the controller version or the interface edition?
do you need external power? I've heard ppl use it with or without...

sounds good indeed, and looks good with that metal body.

still one thing I'm curious about with the midi layout. I understand that the top right buttons swap inbetween four midichannels.

But what about the buttons for the jog? Is there four sub channels to each channel at the top or is that just the same four channels?

Trying to find out how easy this thing would be to map and how much modiefier work need to be done to do what I want to use it for =)

    Been great help so far!

    Cheers

From what I remember reading in the instruction manual (always the better to read than the marketing blurb), the buttons above the jog make the jog send out different CCs - handy!

    PC/Mhac, Traktor 2, Citronic MP-X10, 2 x Kam KCD450, Behringer BCD3000, Echo Audio Layla 3G, Numark EM-460 w/Kaoss Pad, Shure C606, Carlsbro Tytan PA, Turbosound TXD121 12" Tops, Reloop RHP-20

For sure, just never seem to be made that clear what channels are used and how they are linked even in proper documentation.

I'm aware that the buttons above the jog change the channel for the jog. And that the deck change buttons at the top also change channels.

So the q remains, does the deckchange give me four jog channels per deck channel or is it four deck channels and four jog channels in total...

Looks like a great controller but stearing away from it now since I'm not to fond of the "click" buttons.

    Great concept though!

    Cheers
