Default This actually kind of bugs me of here...

It seems as if its not underground here the people dont respect the music its either to mainstream or just simply overrated.. Music is music whether it be overrated or mainstream who cares if its top 40s or completely undergound it still has the same aspect and that is to enjoy it period. I really enjoy mixing everything even country so get over it ur just like the hipsters that hate all about the brand new radio music because its brand new radio music.

Senior swagger, why so? Seems like a legit view to me.
For me, a lot of what is consider mainstream, is the same song recycled. Change a beat here, different words there, put it in a template and press "generate song". Now, I like some radio play stuff as well, even though its the same rinse and repeat song, if its catchy, its cool.

"Underground" is a big part of this industry (DJing). White lables, trainspotting, the crate you keep under the desk, a track you spent days looking for and don't want to share etc. Because of this, there are still a lot of DJs who only want to play stuff that we all haven't heard 100000 times on the radio. On the flip side, there are many, if not an equal number of DJs that only play mainstream.

This topic has come up before, and it all boils down to this: if you like the music, and the audience likes the music, then its just music, and its all good.

Damn straight I would. Where's the originality or creativity in doing that? Show's a lack of effort to dig and develop style all your own and just some one who's lazy over all.

There was a time when many MANY decent "underground" club tracks used to chart (late 90's) ... after a longgggggggg waiting period to the general public (Underworld/Delerium - silence (sanctuary mix)/Armand Van Heldan/BBE/Da Hool/PvD: ones I can think of off the top of my head) music is more like a Toyota factory now than Rolls Royce, mass production, in-and-out sales, The charts change faster than a F1 car's wheels.

Not saying that there was always good music in the charts back then but less utter shite IMHO - Music used to cost more to put on the shelves, and labels had to shell out more cash to make it happen and due to that less willing to take a risk with stuff that would not/might not sell.

I live across the road from about 15 bars/clubs all playing exactly the same "tweaky noise" semi-rap semi-dance 4/4 crap that lies somewhere in the middle of annoying noise and mediocre radio listenability.

I Appreciate good radio tunes and Good production value along with enough fun factor to make John Digweed crack a smile, thats what I call good radio music and good Mainstream Nightclub music.

Martin Sloveig's "Hello" last year is what I would call a perfect mixture of Pop, good production, danceability, and some of the remixes even provided popcorn "whehey" value to lighten the mood in underground clubs, similar Audio Bully's - Shot me down made me grin a little when I first heard it, sure it was cheesy but really well structured and catered to a large cross section of people.

I Swear if I hear more about Applebottom Jeans, Furry boots or freaking G6's I'll kill someone !
