very cool for such a small size, but it is 4 times the cost of the rpi... u could definitely embed that in some custom controller and have it running the software without the need for a laptop where i guess the rpi may not have enough grunt.

Your time spent screwing around with custom mappings in random software that barely supports what you want to do, could be much better spend learning some software and/or hardware DJ solutions already available.
Consider something like the Nexus 7 if you really want to start down the Android DJ path.
i think the two main options will be linux or risc-os. don't think android is or ever was a main contender (or a good idea) for the rpi. they take the linux kernel, modify it and add bloatware on top.
for someone who doesn't want to customise or innovate sure. but then they'd also probably be running traktor anywayYour time spent screwing around with custom mappings in random software that barely supports what you want to do, could be much better spend learning some software and/or hardware DJ solutions already available.![]()

Same kernel running mixxx for a diy all in one dj solution
Build in a 4/4 soundcard and add jack rack into the equation you have a custom DVS ready midi box (complete with effects!) Just add cd players or TTs and a mixer
Same box using just a mixer for the perfect external mixing all in one midi solution; again with effects.
I think I'd rather stick xwax on it than mixxx, mixxx always seems a little bloated to me.
What soundcard would you couple this thing with?

Hardly seems fitting for the project though. I was looking for something cheap that could be cannibalised easily and didn't have fancy mic preamps.
Possibly the behringer 2x2 card with the phono preamp? Unsolder the preamp switch and replace it with one on the outside of the case, break the direct through track on the circuit board and then bridge the gap with a switch so you can have direct through to play real vinyl. Or maybe build some kind of traktor multicore like thing inside the box.
Could this board even power one or two of these soundcards?
Anyone else have any better ideas?

Maya 44? I'm sure it could power one of those.
Why is that?
