Default Need Audio Inputs: sell S2 for an S4 OR keep S2 get Audio 8?

Been searching all over the forums for info on 'duo' or 'team' setups, but have not really found a good option for traktor with both DJ's having controllers. Most of them seem to be one playing a Maschine/F1 and the scratching decks.

    ---

I've had my Kontrol S2 for awhile now and I love it. However at venues I am playing more often as a team (typically just a duo) which is less than ideal with the S2. Often the other DJ has a VCI-100, S2, or something also lacking routing inputs for audio in.

Playing style currently is just tag-teaming trading off every few songs. We would like to try routing decks; but we want to have two screens so we can see what each other are doing (VNC/Screen Share really wouldn't work for us).

What are my options? I have thought of a few but can't decide on the 'smartest decision'

    1. Sell my S2 and buy an S4. Pros: keep compact design and familiar layout; dedicated C/D deck controls; Cons: upgrading only for the audio ports; 200$ upgrade arguably for 'ports'
    2. Keep my S2, buy an Audio 8/10. Pros: no hassle selling S2; Cons: lose portability; more complex 'setup time'

Can anyone think of any others? I even tossed around the thought of getting a Z2, but it seems porting a mixer for this sort of setup would be overkill.

Sorry if I missed anything; wrote this pretty quick.

Inputting audio in to the S4 does not work that well. Especially if you want to have control over the input (like volume control).

I use an s2 with an audio 8, the audio 8 gives you so many options, if you can find one for not too much you have nothing to loose. You still use the mixer you are used to, you can upgrade to traktor scratch if you wanted, you can hook the other dj's setup into your audio 8 and use it as a live input, if you produce the audio 8 is very useful.

My advice based on my own experience would be the audio 8 route, its cheaper and easier to lug about if your playing out

buy a baby two channel mixer ! no EQ needed ... it's what we do and it works well. I have MIDI conncecting the two S4's for timing, the audio is submixed in a small mixer, that audio goes to the club. Easy setup, easy breakdown, portable and CHEAP !
