Plastidipping your knob

After trying to get good-fit Pioneer knobs for my DDJ-T1 I figured it would be a waste of money as none would fit correctly. I stumbled across this thread and figured it might be worth a shot to get the rubber feel knobs. But before I do so, I would like to know whether or not it's effective as the knobs are subject to a lot of stress. However Plastidip advertises that it can withstand a lot of stress.

Is it true? Can I invest 30$ (yes it's expensive here) and know that I too can have the rubber feel knobs? Please help me out

I don't think Plastidipping your DDJ-T1's knobs would be worth the effort or time, nor would it give soft rubber feel you want. Just grab some Chroma Caps. I'm sure they can withstand a lot of stress, and if one of them ends up having an issue, they're cheap to replace.

Plastidip won't damage your knobs, so it wouldn't hurt to try.

Why is your plastidip costing 30 dollars? That's rather absurd...

That said, I don't know how well the plastidip will withstand constant grabbing with your fingers esp if your hands are sweaty, grimy, and etc. You might be reapplying that plastidip a lot.

I'm in Europe, it's much more expensive here then it is in the states...
And because it's so much more expensive I was hoping to find some positive reviews. On the other hand, someone's gotta be first I guess

Well.. for 30 dollars.. might I suggest buying some replacement knobs and try something like spray bedliner? It'll be much more durable than the plastidip (obviously, since it's more durable, it won't be removable like plastidip).

I think PlastiDip will suit your needs just fine. I mean, there is a trend here in the US where it is now being done to entire cars and apparently it holds up just fine. If it holds up on cars, it should hold up on the knobs.

If you don't like it, just peel it off.
