    Default S4 with Ustream

    Hey there guys,

I've been trying to get this setup for over a week now.

I'm on a macbook pro running OSX 10.6

I've looked all over the net, but cant figure out how to get a live stream out of traktor pro (with my s4), to Ustream.

I have tried selecting S4 in Ustreams audio source

I'm not sure what settings i have to change inside Traktor's broadcasting settings.

I'm completely lost, and would love some help, im sure its not a huge thing to setup

I used to connect to ustream using just my macbook. The way I done it which may not be correct was took rca out into 3.5mm jack and plugged that into my mic jack. I didn't have the need for external speakers as I'm unable to turn my music up at night anyway so just use my headphones.

If you want sound for external speakers as well you will probably need some kind of splitter cable

This, run out of one of the mains on the S4 to the input on the computer. Then select that input as your source in ustream.

I always plug the S4 RCA out into the input on another laptop. It would be awesome if the iPad had an audio input.

This is how I run it now also. Much easier to monitor views and chats.

Got all the cables for this last night. Works like a charm:

Dual 1/4" to RCA going from the balanced out on the S4 into my monitors. (<--got this cable at guitar center for 6 bucks)

RCA to 1/8" going from the RCA out on the S4 into my laptop. (<-got this cable off Amazon for $2 free shipping).

Works like a charm, and it's a lot easier than pulling your hair out trying to figure out a software solution to the issue, which is what I did initially.

Use Soundflower for Mac. No need to run cables from S4 into Mac.

    works seamlessly for me.

if you are not too comfortable setting it up, I can share my screen with you and show you what I do.

Y'know, I tried using soundflower on my macbook, and followed the directions (to my knowledge) step for step, but it still wasn't sending any signal to UStream. I just said screw it and got the cables. It was all less than 10 bucks at ye olde guitar center, and it works like a charm. Either way works, I guess.

I suppose my brain runs more analog than digital

Okay, so I encountered an interesting canundrum(sp?) last night while broadcasting a short 'night cap' mix.

    livestream.com/knightsoftheround

Can some of you guys hop on there and tell me if the video is jumping around, most notably during the transitions between songs? I was using LiveStream's app, and I'm wondering if it's hogging resources or bandwidth or something. Given my internet speed, and my computer's specs, I don't know why it would be either...I'll try it directly out of LiveStream's website, as opposed to the external app and see if it makes a difference, tonight....
